Welcome back to the architectural drawing section! After a great amount of work, I can finally relish the chance to present you the evolution of my latest pencil drawing...
Today's drawing depicts an astonishing building from Bucharest, the CEC Palace, designed by the French architect Paul Gottereau. The imposing eclectic construction was inaugurated at the turn of the 20th century, in 1900. The beauty in the smallest detail and the elegance of the facade are undeniable, and the sheer epic grandeur of the old times reflects in the breathtaking style of the palace.
I hope that you will share my opinion that this was worth the long hours spent on it in the last weeks. I don't know exactly what the duration of the drawing process is, but it may rise up to 15-20 hours. The architecture of the building itself is complex, especially due to its spectacular details, quite difficult to display in pencil.
Apart from being one of the most challenging works of mine, it is also my entry for the drawing contest on a popular website for Romanian artists. You can watch my work displayed here.
Hoping that this wonderful building caught your interest, there will be a new article presenting the architecture and the history of CEC Palace, coming up soon!
Now, I'll let you enjoy some steps in the evolution of the drawing... I'm looking forward to reading your opinion about it. :)
Love your work, very detailed. I tried several times to do the same while I was traveling, but never reach your detail level.
