The 'Dreams of an Architect' are often limited by the real life of an aspiring architecture student... Well, what I mean is that my hectic school programme and preparation for different subjects take quite a lot of time, unfortunately seen in the recent lack of posts on the blog... However, today I'll come up with an architectural expedition for all of you who want to chill out and take a break from the well-known appearance of your hometown - heading straight for Madrid, the exquisite capital of Spain!
The photos are taken by me the last winter holiday, in January 2013, while visiting this magnificent city whose memory will surely stay bright in my mind. It is definitely a must-see among the European capitals, and, if you are making up holiday plans for the future, do not hesitate to consider Madrid - until then, have a nice virtual trip through the series of photos posted below!
Plaza Mayor - with the ornaments from Christmas left on
This is the view we had from the window - the apartment we stayed in was quite central, 5 minutes walk from Plaza Mayor. There can be seen a lot of buildings in process of restoration in Madrid, like this one. There is also a maket in the background.
Iconic building for Madrid: Metropolis
The City Hall of Madrid:
Some adorable pieces from Museo Naval:
Views from Retiro park...
Even if the holiday is over, we can still enjoy the modern design of the airport terminal...
