Arabesque - magic beyond colours

"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance"
 (Artistotle)

Art is a spiritual message. Transcending the senses, its profound meaning can only be grasped by a soul which finds it reflected in its own self.

There's an infinite potential in everyone's soul, hidden beyond the appearances. Only by will, by faith and by the power of our dreams can this essence be seen in broad daylight. That's why in everyone around us we can discover a multitude of talents, and the only thing that makes the difference among us is the way we choose to manifest them. First of all, an artist is the one who trusts the power of his or her thoughts so as, beyond a simple product of imagination, to be able to turn them into a material shape with symbolic value: the artistic creation.

"To send light into the darkness of men's hearts - such is the duty of an artist" - Robert Schumann

What art expresses is a mosaic of feelings that can be understood only by rediscovering ourselves. Because art is a reflection of the same essence that is found in every soul. An artwork is a unique ray from the whole light that portrays the infinite. To understand art genuinely, we need to rediscover the expression of the artist's feelings in our inner self.

There's no truth more pure than an artwork - which lets a whole soul to be reflected on a piece of paper. Art expresses love for everything that surrounds us. It tells us that, beyond shapes and colours, the universe is an infinite harmony that stays hidden only behind the appearances. The artwork is a spiritual communion of the soul of the artist with all those who get to perceive the profound meaning of his or her works.

Through their creations, artists portray the ideals that may seem real only in our imagination. Once they are defined in a shape, those ideals may seem to lose their abstract perfection. For this reason, perfection in the material form of an artwork is not the ultimate aim of art, but only the symbolic way which makes possible for a soul to express itself. The ideal in art is that to communicate the undefined. An artwork is meant to inspire more than a feeling of contemplation - once the spirit transcends the senses, art is just a choice to perceive the ideal through a symbol.

What can make you lay your thoughts in shape and colours?... The first lines of an artwork tell a story about searching the real expression of the Ideal. Our physical existence, limited by time and space, is still able to represent what is eternal and essential, the truth that makes our world shine in countless sparkles of light. That is art - the moment when a simple piece of paper mirrors the spirit, the beauty and the essence.
