If you regularly check out this blog, you may know that I've been preparing a surprise for you all for quite a long time... A surprise came from the dreams of two future architects, that we decided to share with everyone - because architecture is more than a profession, more that a set of tasks that will need being addressed daily. It is about passion, talent and imagination, it is about dreams that will come true, enriching our world with new wonders, not only made from walls, not only dividing space, but blended with ideas and portraying concepts...
So, there is what me and Cosmin Neacșu prepared for you: a pencil drawing of New York, 50x70 mm in size, taking around 70 hours to complete. Drawing New York has been a challenging project, but hopefully, the final result will prove to be rewarding. We are truly thankful for the support of the Romanian website ePITESTI, who published an article about our collaboration work!
It all started with our common wish: a complex, realistic drawing of a city. New York just seemed to perfectly match the description. The abundance of details in the facades seriously challenges an artist's patience, while the widespread popularity of New York as a symbol of American modern architecture would make it a priceless piece in every art gallery. These were motivating enough to go for this common endeavor, which, apart from being a useful way of gaining experience, resulted in an art piece that I strongly hope will live up to your expectations.
We decided that each of us would have to draw a certain part of the drawing. After finding a proper reference picture, I was the one who made the first stages of the drawing come to life:
Then, Cosmin followed, finishing most of the drawing and successfully dealing with the most intricate parts:
The final stages belonged to me, adding the details that, as you may know, I'm so fond of in each of my drawings...
I hope you like the drawing and the evolution displayed above. We are eagerly waiting to read your opinions! Until the next time... keep following Dreams of an Architect and Un Blog Simplu - your daily sources of art & architectural inspiration!
Very well done!
